#1 AMAZON BESTSELLER – PUBLISHER’S WEEKLY NATIONAL BESTSELLER – Discover an easier, more balanced way to meal prep as you whip up 100 fresh and healthy dishes that happen to be gluten-free, from the creator of the popular blog and YouTube channel Downshiftology.
“Lisa has revolutionized meal prep to be approachable, fresh, and easy, and her cookbook has everything you need to make healthy eating a breeze.”—Emily Mariko, TikTok creator
Before Lisa Bryan began meal prepping several years ago as a way to save time and money, she quickly became tired of eating boring leftovers and wasting food. At the same time, she also wanted to “downshift” the too-fast pace of her life. So she flipped the script on meal prep by focusing on individual ingredients.
By prepping a handful of healthy ingredients at the start of the week, she learned that she could enjoy a variety of meals and snacks without getting bored. And she found she could control what she ate with more clarity: It became easy to eat more vegetables and simple proteins, eliminate processed foods and gluten (to manage her celiac disease), and reduce refined sugar. Her debut cookbook is packed with 100+ simple and ingenious big-batch recipes that can either be frozen or repurposed into totally different, delicious meals.
A dinner of Coconut Chickpea Curry with rice can be enjoyed the next day as a tostada at lunch, and a side of peas and crispy prosciutto becomes breakfast when you add a jammy egg on top. The recipes are all free of refined sugar, many are naturally anti-inflammatory, and dairy is minimal and optional. Lisa’s approachable method for eating well and preparing meals with ease will inspire home cooks to downshift their lives, too, by making healthy meals without a fuss.

Perfection
I own a LOT of cookbooks. And I order way more and send a lot back because I’m picky. I almost never write reviews. But I love this cookbook. It’s truly healthy (the food, the recipe combinations and. Even the advice on which containers to use to store). It’s practical (long gone are the days I get an uninterrupted hour to cook). Many of the recipes allow me to prep quickly in advance when I’m free and then assemble or reheat right after picking my kid up from daycare. The flavors are excellent and she doesn’t demonize anything. Need a bit of maple syrup to make oats appealing? It’s in the recipe. Want less sugar, reduce it. There are pictures for everything and they look very appetizing. And even better, when I make the recipes, my food looks the same which is rare given the age of instagram focused food belongs. Simply perfection!

The best healthy, feel good recipes & family favorites!
I bought this book when she first dropped it and have made so many of these recipes part of my family’s regular meals. I love her YouTube channel as well and is what informed me of her book. Lisa Bryan has delicious and healthy easy to make recipes with items usually found in the pantry or fridge. I always get compliments on the dishes I make from her book and channel and just bought mom and mom in law her books for Mother’s Day gifts. Thanks Lisa, your recipes have brought so much goodness to our families lives.

Life changing
This book is changing my life. I have struggled with SIBO, and recently tested negative. It’s been a crazy couple of years with stomach issues and recovering from having a baby. I was getting into a rut being “too busy” for healthy foods. This book, and her approach is everything! I’m eating tons of veggies and it’s so simple. It’s actually simplifying my life so much. My kids are even trying, and liking some of her recipes! Some of them look really healthy, and I always wonder if I’ll have to gag it down. Everything I’ve tried is delicious! My one and only concern is not all of the foods have a good protein content. Maybe I’ll just start doctoring them up. I’ll try to keep adding photos. So far I only have the chickpea curry, which is so yummy.

Good gift!
Ordered this for my cousin for Christmas and she just reported back that she loves it! Highly recommend as a gift or even just if you’re looking to find healthy alternatives for daily recipes

Extremely well put together book.
I don’t normally leave reviews unless something is so awful I need to warn people, or so good I need to tell people. The content, design, information, photos and layout of this book are brilliantly done. The fact she “shows” you how the prepped ingredients will look once made, and then follows up with the 5-9 more dishes you can create using the prepped ingredients, is positively ingenious, and beautifully done too, I might add.The recipes to make the prepped portions are found by the page number added below the item. Additionally, there’s an easy to see list at the bottom of all the fresh and pantry items you need. The only addition I’d like to see would be the nutritional value, etc., not just the carbs, calories etc., along with what vitamins and other health benefits are included in each dish. However, maybe that is an another book, one which could help balance the daily nutritional values, or the particular nutritional values of the dish as a whole. The fact that literally everything made has a beautifully picture is priceless.Extremely well done Lisa. Thank you.

More recipes
I do like how it give advice in how to meal prep but I would have rather more recipes in the book. I don’t think it needed that much pages in how to meal prep. I did buy the book for recipes not meal prep

Literally the best
Years ago, I Googled a recipe for something and she popped up. It was the absolute most delicious meal I had made in a while and very easy to put together. I didn’t know who she was and had no intention of looking up more from her. So, I didn’t. To me, she was just another random person who offered recipes. Then, another day came and I googled for something and another one of her recipes popped up. Okay, I thought, looks good. And…sure enough, it was absolutely delicious and easy. That happened again and again.Long story short, over the last 5 years or so, the most delicious and easy meals I ever made all came from her recipes. Literally. Every. Single. Recipe. So, I decided to look into this “random” woman and see what she’s about. I didn’t realize she had such a following…but she does…and rightfully so.I just read the beginning of this cookbook and sifted through every single page. Here are my thoughts…1.) What a beautiful and well thought out cookbook. She has a way of presenting each meal and making it look mouth wateringly irresistible. She also has a way of providing simple and clear instructions. Nothing about her meals or the prep feel overwhelming to me.2.) I cannot WAIT to try every single recipe in this book. I legitimately already know that they will all be amazing.3.) I always look for 1 star reviews when I really love something, to see what people could say. We’re all different right? She absolutely talks about meal prep. So, not sure what those people are talking about. And for the one person who talked about it having odd ingredients or ones that aren’t typically in your cabinet – that’s a you thing. I feel like the reason she got thousands of 5 star reviews are because her target audience are those who DO stock these kinds of foods or who want to. Every recipe looked delicious to me and none of the ingredients struck me as odd or silly to have. Lastly, you shouldn’t give her a 1 star for a damaged book.4.) Try any of her online meals, any one of them, or 2 or 3. You won’t be disappointed and then if you so choose…buy the book!5.) I feel like a fan girl. I really like Lisa, her story and her recipes. Thank you Lisa!Update: I’ve had this book for 4 days and have already made 3 of the meals. All delicious of course…and…my toddler loves them too! She just ate her entire bowl of the bean and artichoke soup! I honestly am excited to make her meals!

Book is delivered with visible damage on two places + dirty/dusty. It looks like the book was on the shelves for a long period not protected from the dirt/dust.Packaging for books should be better not cardboard envelope.

Lisa makes cooking gluten free meals easier and more fun! She also is great at giving many ideas about how to prepare and construct meals before hand which is what we, modern busy people, need. The book has beautiful pictures, suggestions for storage and substitutes, not to mention the nutritional value of each meal! As transparent and clear as possible, that even beginners can do magic!
