Read if on HRT of any kind!
I have only had this supplement for less than a week, the 45 and older version. I would caution those over 45 who are on any type of hormone replacement. Per my experience I have learned about Maca, that is in this version but not the 45 and younger. My hormone Dr recommended this as a good hair growth supplement, not realizing there was this version. I started having warm flushes, super oily skin, and anxiety/jittery feel on day 2, of a starting out, reduced dose. Started researching the ingredients and mace seems to be the issue. I called my Dr, and indeed, stop taking dt the maca. I have ordered the 45 and younger version, since this is supposed to be an effective supplement, hopefully it will be. But I thought to review for many of us over 45 on some form of hrt, who this may not be a good option for. I would have appreciated a warning about this on the label, would have saved me some unpleasant symptoms and extra money. But, I’m not knocking it over all, giving the younger version a try when my new order comes in. Good luck ladies!I wanted to update, 4/9/2024, I’ve been taking this, 45+, 2 caps with 2 caps of the 45 and younger version. Stopped my dhea supplement I was on, all with my Dr’s approval. First, my hormones are doing really great on this with maca, now that the dhea is stopped. Better than on dhea. I feel great too! But let’s get to the hair. At first I was not sure much was happening, even at 3 months, nope, not sure. But I think it’s 6 months or so now, and I’m sure my hair is thickening back up, so it is working for me, not without some initial issues, but I found the right combo for myself, 4 caps a day, 2, 45+, 2 ,45 and under. Hormones and hair doing better. I agree, expensive, but I’ve decided, worth it to me, and will continue for hair and hormones in my perimenopause world! Once again, good luck ladies..it’s ruff ride 50+

    It worked for me.
I’ve been taking Nutrafol for women 45 and older and it works. My dermatologist recommended it and said I probably wouldn’t notice much change until the 3rd month. I had always had very thick hair and about 5 months ago I started shedding a lot when I brushed or shampooed. I had to work to try to cover up an area in the back that was thin. I finished my 3rd bottle and the thin spot is gone. It’s expensive and the 4th bottle I just ordered is $20.00 more than the last 3 were.

Fantastic results in short time- less than 3 months
I have had excessive hair shedding for a long time. My hair was getting so thin that I was having trouble using a hair comb to hold my hair up in back. I had to resort to Bobby pins! I started using Nutrofol March 6. After as short as 5 weeks, I noticed I tried using my combs again doubting they would work. Sometimes I could get my hair to stay up for short periods of time before falling. To my surprise, I noticed a difference. My hair was staying up after this short time. How that could be I have NO IDEA. Hair doesn’t grow inches in a month. Evidently it grew enough to allow my combs to have something additional to hold on to!The best part was that I was nervous when I read reviews talking about side effects. Because of that I have only been taking 2 vs the 4 capsules recommended as a standard dose! I had no side effects at all. This week my husband even commented that may hair looks fuller. My hair shedding is down to an amount that I think is normal- not big clumps in the shower drain as before. I am ecstatic!I highly recommend

Huge help! Breakage slowing down and so is hairloss.
Near the end of the second bottle with zero side effects. I take it first thing in the morning without food and do great. I’ve seen less breakage, less hair coming out on my brush, floor, andwhen I wash it, and it seems to be growing faster.

    A Story of Side Effects
I wish that I had taken those who had side effects with this product seriously. But because those who experienced side effects seemed to have only 1 symptom at a time, I figured that if I could get past the possible 1 symptom then I would be good. Yeah, that did not happen. Here is my experience:First, based on other reviews, I started off slow. Instead of the 4 capsules, I started off with two. Exactly 24 hours after taking the first dose (2 of the 4 required dosage), I experienced the worst stomach cramps that hit me hard and fast on my drive home from work. Nothing like being stuck in rush hour traffic and feel you’re stomach is about to burst from the inside. Like others who warned of this, this was the prelude to a gas attack that I have never experienced in my life. It was uncontrollable and I finally understood my dog’s reactions when he startles himself with an unexpected escaped toot. This happened for days, just random escapes. I’ve never been more grateful for a stretch of working-from-home.I tried to spread out how often I took the dosage, hoping my system would get used to it. No such luck. My newfound, unwanted duck impersonation took on a life of its own, no matter how little or how often I took the low dosage. Now, let’s talk bloating. When I say bloating, I’m not talking water weight, I’m talking rock hard, protruding stomach that feels like an alien is about to break out of your colon. Or at least wants to but may be trapped in a gas bubble. It is painful and unrelenting, no matter if you also take a water pill and try to drown the alien by drinking nothing but water. It’s so uncomfortable it makes you forget that you now come with your own personal sound effects.Next, the break outs. It started off with 1 in the middle of my cheek and morphed into a takeover of the left side of my face. I’m not talking about tiny pimples that could be zapped with a dab of alcohol, I’m talking deep rooted, cystic boils as if the alien is taking its revenge from the inside out, in the form of painful acne. And they are not easy to combat. When one starts to heal, another pops up right beside it like a sadistic game of whack-a-mole…or whack-a-zit.Needless to say, I stopped taking this stuff. It’s expensive and I was hoping for some help with my hair thinning around my face but the side effects were not worth the “possibility” of hair help with no guarantee. I’m past the time for a return and refund and am out the money it cost me for this form of masochism. If you think you can survive the possible side effects, well, good for you.

I wish I had done my homework before spending such an obscene amount of money on these. By the second day of taking them, I was nauseated, breathless, dizzy and bloated and this came on again on day 3, though I HALVED the dosage. I felt so bad I finally looked up the actual individual dosages and was appalled by how much they exceeded the RDA, to the point of being harmful. Make a point of reading up on what could happen if you overdose on vitamin A and so forth; BE CAREFUL!
