So many things to learn about SLEEP
One thing I always live by is you’re never too old to learn new things. Dr. Burns takes his readers on a pleasant journey of imparting knowledge about sleep. In very simple terms, he explains what is happening in the body when we sleep and the benefits of getting enough. At the same time, he goes into details as to the kind of harm that we do everyday when we choose not to get enough sleep, and also how we don’t realize how many things we do on a regular basis that is keeping us from getting proper sleep. Some people in my line of work could very easily come to the conclusion that they need to make career changes. The one particular thing he talks about is PTSD and sleep. I never thought of PTSD in that way before, and the more I read, it made so much sense as to how it negatively impacts sleep. I’m in the military, and I had never thought of it like that. After reading the whole book, I looked at references he used for the book and was fascinated.There were so many positive things about this book, but people definitely should stick to the easy 10-3-2-1-0 plan if they can’t do anything else, it’s simple yet extremely beneficial.

One of the better books I’ve read on sleep
I have been taking steps to improve my sleep for years. This small book packs in a lot of information, and is pretty well-written. It’s one of the few books I’ve read recently that gave me some new ideas to try. It also helped me understand the importance of sleep cycles as opposed to total sleep hours.The books gets a bit preachy in some parts, which is why I give it 4 stars instead of five.
