As an alternative heath care provider, I found this book a breath of fresh air! I love how the author shares her personal journey into herbalism and how it was passed down from her grandmother. I found the book was well organized, and had many herbal recipes that anyone can make from home, even with just simple ingredients. Many people will find these recipes very useful for helping with a variety of health issues. I cant wait to try some myself. In fact, I look forward to sharing this book with my patients who are often looking for natural remedies for their ailments. Highly recommended book!

    Fun and Simple
This book is such a great intro to herbal drinks and home apothecary basics. I loved the easy-to-follow recipes—everything feels very approachable, even if you’re starting out. The section at the beginning about setting up your own little apothecary space at home was a nice touch and got me excited to try more. It’s informative without being overwhelming and just an enjoyable read all around.

  5. AJ

A must-have for anyone starting out in herbal remedies

  7. Eveline

    well written, easy to follow
I enjoyed this book because it is very easy to follow for anyone. The recipes are not difficult to make and there are so many different ones, you’re bound to find some that you find appealing. It’s a great introduction into the topic of herbalism. The recipes are grouped in a logical way and the introductory chapters help you get started quickly.

  8. MDR

    Well Organized with Many Recipes
I really liked how well organized this was. The first parts of the book really break down the basics of stuff you should know, the mindset (like how starting small is perfectly ok!), gathering the tools you’ll need for your apothecary journey, safety guidelines and tools, and organization. Then you get into the actual recipes themselves – and the amount included did not disappoint. I haven’t gotten through all of them yet, but I’ve marked several that I want to try. I did spot a few little typos here and there on the recipe cards themselves, but not enough to dock a star since I felt the content was solid.

  9. Sandra Perks

It is set out so thoughtfully and for people who haven’t yet thought about their own apothecary to those who have already dabbled in the art.I loved the way you set the scene at the very beginning and had all those wonderful recipe ideas in the second half.I look forward to collecting my tools and herbs and giving many of these ideas a shot and boosting our family health.

  10. Pamela Cooper

As a mother who believes in moon cycles, forest medicine, and growing your own medicine chest, this book felt like a gentle nudge in the right direction. The beginner tone is great for folks just starting out, but some of the recipes felt a bit clinical or formulaic for my taste. I’d love more plant spirit stories or energetic notes. That said, I’ve already made a lemon balm syrup for my kids and they *love* it.

“The Ultimate Holistic Herbal Apothecary: A Beginner’s Guide to Timeless Home Remedies & Simple Solutions for Natural Wellness” is such a great resource. It is very complete, from starting out with herbs to creating great recipes. You will learn how to create teas for various ailments, make healthy and healing smoothies, oils, mists, elixirs, balms and lotions, and so much more. The book comes with very nice illustrations, a beginner-friendly table with herbs and their benefits, and detailed instructions and descriptions of all the needed material.

  12. M

The step-by-step recipes are easy to follow, and I love knowing I can create my own remedies at home. Now, I need to do gardening! This book is empowering and practical. I recommend if you have been curious about natural remedies.

  13. janewriting

One of the best books on herbalism for the general public I’ve ever read. It’s very clearly laid out and the author’s passion for his subject shines through. I like the way you’re introduced to the idea of using herbal remedies by making herbal tea and using just a few herbs. This really helps build confidence. Then the gold mine of the 200+ herbal remedies – teas, herbal sachets to put under your pillow, herbal shots, tinctures, ointments and so much more. Can’t recommend this enough.
